Overview

Take in the delights of spring on this linear walk across Wimbledon Common, through Richmond Park and along the Thames. We will see the Wimbledon windmill, the colours of the Isabella plantation, views from Pembroke Lodge, the exterior of Ham and Marble Hill Houses, and the bustling riverfront of Richmond. The full distance is 10.5 miles, but there will be the option to leave at Pembroke Lodge after 6 miles, with an easy self-guided 1.75 miles to Richmond station (directions will be given).

Meet at Wimbledon station (Wimbledon village exit). There are various transport options (train, tube, tram), with most journeys from the Bromley area taking a little over an hour, but try the new SL5 bus to East Croydon, then a train to Clapham Junction and an easy change for another to Wimbledon - depending on connections, this can be done in 50 minutes. But do check on disruptions for your journey.
