Overview

We will be walking from the village of Newnham on the River Severn. The walk mainly follows woodland trails, and scenic field and riverside paths. The terrain is undulating with a couple of steep climbs. 

There are no refreshments during the walk so come prepared with food and drink for the day.

This  Forest of Dean walk should provide some spectacular views of the River Severn, including those from the Blaize Bailey viewpoint, and across the River to the Arlington peninsula.  

Because of an injury, this walk has not been pre-walked as yet (April). I will update as necessary nearer the date of the walk.

Take the A48 from Chepstow through Lydney and Blakeney to Newnham. As you approach the riverbank towards the far end of the village turn right into Church Road to reach the car park.
