Starting at Failford Inn walk follows part of River Ayr Way through woods owned and maintained by the Woodland Trust.
The walk is a figure of eight and is generally easy walking apart from a few bits with lots of steps rising up and down to and from the riverside.
We will pass near to Covenanter Preacher Alexander Peden’s pulpit which detours 300 metres off the route. (This detour may be omitted if everyone has been there before)
Leader John Noble tel: 07581706996. Please let the walk leader know if you intend to travel direct to Failford.
Health and Safety information: Due to recent rain the paths are fairly muddy so boots or stout shoes advisable.
Poles are also recommended as all the steps do not have a handrail.
Being a woodland walk tree roots are an occasional hazard.
Unfortunately we will be a few weeks early for the magnificent display of wild garlic and bluebells on this walk.
Hopefully we will finish with a refreshment stop at the Failford Inn.
