Overview
Walk starts from junction of Cockburn Crescent and Cockburnhill Road, Balerno. Start time 09.30 hrs
From meeting point, road walking past Buteland House to enter Bavelaw Estate, passing Listonshiels. Circular walk across Bavelaw Estate brings us out on the Red Road where we descend to pass the Bavelaw Marsh and Red Moss. Along the Rigg Road and back to start point in Balerno via the Nail Trail.
A fair bit of road walking along quiet country lanes at start and after leaving Bavelaw Estate. Mostly good paths across the estate but stony underfoot in places. If there has been a lot of rain, there will be patches which are wet and/or muddy. Some ascent but well spread out across the walk so barely noticeable.
We regret dogs are not permitted on our walks.
