I have back copies of the printed program from December 2010 to December 2020. Perusing these in order to get a suitable walk for Mike using his route and words I found 13 linear walks for the Saxon Shore Way (the first walk was in the program before my library started), 8 linear walks in conjunction with CAMRA, two other linear walks, a long 12 mile circular walk and a hilly 10 mile circular. It was obvious that this walk had to be a linear walk. I would have liked to have walked a Saxon Shore Way walk but all the best bits were too far away. So I chose one of the two lone linear walks from 7 August 2013

"Car free linear walk over the North Downs
Linear walk from Farnborough to Westerham with lunch at the Aperfield pub in South Street. Optional afternoon tea in Westerham. We suggest that you arrive at the start on a 358 bus from Orpington, Bromley or Beckenham. If you arrive by car you will need to return to Farnborough village by bus. Bring your bus pass!
It is possible to make a shorter walk by stopping at lunch time. The bus from Westerham to Bromley stops close to the Aperfield pub, which is about 5 miles from the start.
Meet opposite the Change of Horses pub.
The bus stop is on Vicarage Hill (A25) opposite the Green where you catch the bus back to Bromley. You have to change buses to get back to Farnborough.
