Overview

Walk in association with Dartmoor Preservation Association.
The walk will visit Bench Tor which has extensive views into the River Dart Valley, and we return on a lower path before completing a circuit of Venford Reservoir. The walk will consider the history of the Reservoir as a water supply for Torbay and some of the archaeology in terms of reaves and tin mines. The route will use moorland paths, and tracks, which might be faint on the ground and there will be a crossing of the Venford Brook, either on stones/logs or it is possible to easily walk through it.
After the walk the plan will be to visit a local pub/café for food or a drink after the walk. Details will be provided when booking is made for the walk.
