We are the Calderdale Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A scenic walk through meadows up to spectacular views on open moors - on a good day there is sight of Pendle Hill and even out to the Three Peaks! Our ultimate destination is the atmospheric landmark of the Singing Ringing Tree panopticon.
A long steady ascent and descent frames the walk. As ever, Pennine weather can be unpredictable so come prepared - some sections can get boggy after wet weather so walking boots are advised. Warm and waterproof clothing are essential as the summit is exposed.
Bring a packed lunch and drink as refreshments are only available at the walk start. Dogs MUST be kept on a lead as we pass through farmland and sensitive moorland for ground-nesting rare birds.
Meet in the car park of The Ram Inn, Holme Chapel on Burnley Road A646. On road parking is also available if you do not intend to visit the pub after the walk. Public transport runs along the main road - please check timetables for the 592 service.
