The walk includes Cwm Cyfal nature reserve, a lake, waterfalls and a short detour to a hillfort. Also the  remains of Rhiwbach slate quarry- large enough to have had it's own school!

The terrain includes remote (and boggy)moorland, steep ascents and descents.
