Tiger Bay Ramblers (TBR) is a walking group for people of working age. It is based in Cardiff but walks across South Wales and beyond.
Bryngarw Park is one of the jewels of the Garw Valley in Bridgend. Once the estate of a wealthy family, it now boasts wildflower meadows, woodlands, an orchard and a river, as well as the more exotic Oriental gardens. We will take a wander around all of the highlights, including the park’s famous bluebell woods. The walk will be led at a leisurely pace and I will attempt to ID birdsong/calls for anyone who is interested. The park is on the side of a hill so there will be ascents and descents, some steep but only for short distances. We may also be walking through wet grass and some of the paths may be muddy if there has been recent rain.
The walk will finish at the visitor centre, where there is a café serving tea/coffee, cakes and food for anyone wishing to buy these. The car park is pay and display (I believe the daily cost is £3.50) so people may wish to car share to reduce costs. The machine takes cards. Well behaved dogs on leads only, as there are lots of other dogs and children who will be making use of the park.
