The walk begins in St Margaret’s (Herts), initially through Stanstead Abbotts and then along the Hertfordshire way. The first part of the walk is mostly along public footpaths, and bridleways through countryside and woodlands.
We will stop for lunch at Widford, please bring a packed lunch.
After lunch we walk along the River Ash and also along a disused railway for a short stretch, the latter stages of the walk go through Amwell Nature reserve and then along the Lee navigation before returning to Standstead Abbotts and St Margaret’s railway station.
Much of the walk is on well made footpaths and bridleways, although, parts of the walk can be muddy after rain.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
No booking required.
