Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
Starting at Sunningdale station the walk goes through Coworth Park with its polo fields, then enters Windsor Great Park, continues around Virginia Water, and passes through Valley Gardens. The walk continues past the Royal Lodge and through the deer park to the Copper Horse statue and then down the long walk to Windsor castle.
The walk is mainly along well made footpaths, although, there are short sections which can be muddy after rain.
We will stop for lunch in Windsor Great Park near the Savill Garden Restaurant, but please bring a packed lunch. There are picnic tables, a kiosk to buy drinks and toilets at the lunch stop.
Meet just outside Sunningdale station.

Travel
Take the 09:50 from London Waterloo to Sunningdale, arriving 10:38
Outward: Buy a return to Sunningdale. Freedom pass and 60+ Oyster card, buy a return from end Zone 6 (Feltham) to Sunningdale.
Return: You will need to buy a single from Windsor to Staines as Sunningdale and Windsor are on separate lines.
There are toilets approx 5 minutes after the start of the walk, there are no toilets at Sunningdale station.
