Two Castles Trail Part 1

This is Part 1 of a linear walk taking place in three stages westbound.

Parking on the old A30 just below the turning into Bridestowe.

Catching the 306 bus from Bridestowe to Okehampton at 0958 - please arrive by 9.40 (remember to bring your bus pass otherwise £2).

This route mainly follows the West Devon Way including stretches of road, woodland track, fields and open moorland with parts that can be muddy after rain. Starting at the entrance to the Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton, we follow the Okement River, cross the golf course, pass Meldon Farm then onto the moor. At Sourton the two trails diverge and here we make our way to Bridestowe across farmland and lanes with a number of stiles towards the end.
