Overview

Leaders: Jane P. & Julia H.
A linear walk following in the footsteps of Harold Fry on his northward journey from Kingsbridge to Berwick on Tweed; we walk the section from the Cathedral to Brampford Speke as Harold was aiming for Thorverton, Tiverton and beyond.
The start leads to Horseguards, Green Circle up through the Hoopern Valley University grounds and the descending ponds, Stoke Hill Farm, Stoke Woods, Stafford Bridge, Brampford Speke to Upton Pyne thence to New Bridge joining the A377, catching a 5, 5A or 5B bus back to Exeter (every 20 mins).
There will be readings at coffee time beyond Stoke Hill Farm and the lunch break at Upton Pyne Church from Rachel Joyce’s novel The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry! (also a film of 2023)
