A 10 mile circular walk taking in Box HIll and Ranmore Common in the Surrey Hills AONB.

Advance booking is not required, but if you plan on attending this walk, please indicate this on Meetup if you can (see Website link), so others can see that there will be plenty of people going.

Walk details

The walk starts at Dorking Deepdene station heading to the stepping stones over the River Mole, before ascending to the top of Box HIll.

We then continue to Juniper Top before descending to West Humble for lunch.

After lunch, we then head out of West Humble up alongside Denbies Vineyard to Ranmore before descending back through the vineyard and into Dorking.

Travel details

By public transport

From Reading take the 9.24 to Gatwick Airport to Dorking Deepdene station, arriving at 10:27. Return trains run twice every hour.

By car

Parking is available at Dorking Main station (which is a few minutes' walk from Deepdene where the walk starts) and in the town centre. Charges will probably apply.

Notes

  • Please bring a packed lunch and a drink.
  • It might be muddy – please wear suitable footwear.
