We are the Hike Essex Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a circular walk that starts and finishes in the Weald Country Park, Brentwood. We will also be visiting The Mores woodland, Strawberry woods, Gipsy Bottom, Navestock side and St Pauls church, Bentley Common.
The route will be on a mixture of paths, fields (some with live stock) and a couple of sections on narrow country roads. And yes, it will probably be very muddy in places.
LUNCH - Bring a packed lunch, we will stop for a picnic lunch apx halfway.
PUB STOP - Optional post-walk drink will be at 'The White Horse', 173 Coxtie Green Rd, CM14 5PX (5min drive away).
There are 2x Signposted Car parks almost next to each other, 'The Belvedere Car Park' and the 'Visitor Centre Car Park'. We will meet in the latter where there is a cafe and toilets. Parking at the Visitor Centre costs £6.30 for the day, all proceeds are used for the upkeep and development of the park and protection of the wildlife. Payment is made using the ticket machines on site.
