A walk in northern Gower with fantastic views over the Loughor Estuary.
We’ll walk over Cil Ifor Hillfort, see a Trig Point and have time to explore Weobley Castle. We may even see some Bluebells on the way.
CilI Ifor was a defended settlement during both prehistoric and medieval times and is thought by some to be the site of the ‘missing’ castle of the Turbervilles.
The 700-year-old Weobley Castle was home to the de la Bere family and a target for the forces of Owain Glyndŵr in the 15th Century. CADW entrance fees apply.
N.B. Remember to bring your CADW card for free entry!
N.B. There will be a steep ascent to reach the top of CilI for – but worth it!
Walking Poles recommended in case of mud.
Social after walk:
Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to The Purple Badger.
Directions: Take the North Gower Road eastward towards Llanrhidian.
The caravan park is one mile before the village (on the landward side of the road).
Enter along the drive and park in lower car park (Not in front of the reception).
