A walk of in excess of 8 miles on fairly easy and mainly level going with not too much mud expected. We walk a short distance through the town with a few roads to cross at the beginning and end. The route includes a stretch on the canal towpath before entering into the grounds of Haigh Hall and returning via the path at the side of the River Douglas.
