What we do

Our Walks

We offer a full programme of walks on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year.  In the summer months we offer the occasional Monday evening walk.  Our Thursday walks are usually around 5 miles and are taken at a more leisurely pace so ideal for those who like to chat in a social walk or are new to rambling.  On the other days we offer a variety of distances and difficulty ranging from 6 miles to 10 or more.  Evening walks are usually 4 to 5 miles, most of our walks on any day ending with the chance to enjoy refreshments at a local pub if you wish.

Our Other Activities

We are a very sociable group with many of our walks also offering the opportunity to socialise afterwards at a local pub or cafe.  We also organise occasional coach trips which offer the chance to enjoy a day out further afield with walks to suit a range of abilities plus some spare time to explore the destination.  Most of our walks are within a 10 mile to 15 mile radius of Coavlille - when we do walk further afield we try to offer a car share option.  Occasionally we will offer a linear walk using the bus to reach the start or end point.  For those who would like to become walk leaders we offer training events and support. In addition to the regular walks progamme our members also enjoy meals out together and walking weekends away.

Dogs Friendly Walks

Well behaved dogs (and walkers!) are welcome on most of our walks - if you are new to the group you can contact the walk leader in advance to check if the route is suitable for your dog.

Want To Join Us?

We know that trying out a new group can be scary!  Non members are welcome to come along and try out a few walks before deciding if they would like to join Ramblers.  Each walk has contact details for the leader - please feel free to get in touch with them in advance with any questions.  It is best to aim to arrive about 15 minutes before the walk start time so you have plenty of time to put on boots, coats etc.  Remember to bring plenty to drink along with a snack, or packed lunch and suitable clothing/footwear for the weather conditions.  Keep updated by joining our Facebook group
