Nuffield Practice Witney - Wellbeing Walk

A friendly walk along the footpaths of Witney starting outside the Nuffield Medical Practice. New walkers of all abilities are always welcome. Leisurely pace between 2-3 miles and lasting approximately 1 hour. Depending on weather conditions we may walk along country footpaths. 

Please wear suitable footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. There is the option to join a group for a cup of tea or coffee at the end.

Witney Windrush Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a gentle stroll along the footpaths around the leafy area of Witney. We are a friendly group and all newcomers of all abilities are always very welcome. Walk and chat for about 30 – 45 minutes to help improve your fitness and feel energised.

Please wear suitable footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.

Brize Norton Walk & Talk

Join us on the first Friday of each month for a gentle stroll to watch the seasons change. An opportunity to stay active, spot local wildlife and make new friends. We are a friendly group and all newcomers are very welcome. We cater for all abilities and finish with a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe at the end.

Please Note - The walk will be partly over a field, so appropriate footwear necessary.

Walks near to Blenheim Palace and Woodstock area

Start:

Woodstock Wellbeing Walk

This friendly and accessible walk starts at the Brook Hill/ Union Street junction which is overlooked by Spencer Court, Union Street in Woodstock. (Off road parking, check parking restrictions on road signs) The route varies but often takes in the delights of Blenheim Place and surrounding areas of natural beauty. The walk is moderate in pace and takes between 1.5 and 2hrs to complete.

A friendly and accessible walk starting from the newly re-opened The Royal Sun pub, Begbrooke, Kidlington. Routes may vary slightly due to weather conditions but the walk should take about an hour.

Annie's Tearoom

Start:

Thrupp Wellbeing Walk

A friendly and accessible walk. The route can vary with a flatter walk along the canal in muddy conditions or exploring the surrounding countryside nearby. Usually last between 1 & 1.5hrs in duration. Walkers meet in the car park behind Annie's Tearoom, Thrupp and stop for refreshments on returning from the walk.

Kidlington

Start:

Kidlington Wellbeing Walk

This is a very friendly, accessible walk and they accommodate all levels of walkers. They split into 3 groups but start together opposite the Co-op near the Kidlington Centre precinct just off the High Street. Therefore it's possible to choose a walk of around 15 mins, 30 mins or those who would like to walk further can walk up to 90 mins. On the longer walk there are sometimes stiles. They meet back at the Cafe in the Kidlington Centre at the end of their walks. Parking is free for up to 3 hours.

Start:

West Oxford Riverside Ramble

We will meet together outside the West Oxford Community Centre, where there are toilets and parking (OX2 0BT). From there we will head up the Thames Path towards Port Meadow. The path is a flat, gravel path with several benches on the way. There are a couple of small slopes over bridges and these all have handrails. From the path we can see the river and the side stream, home to a big variety of plants and animals. Its is a beautiful path which is different throughout the seasons. When we get to Fiddler's Island the path opens up onto Port Meadow with its big skies, we walk across the end of the meadow and back along the historic Oxford Canal. 

The walk ends back at the West Oxford Community Centre where we will have a hot drink, a chat and maybe a biscuit!

Adderbury

Start:

Adderbury Walk (5 miles) Stress Buster

A warm welcome awaits anyone who would like to join the Adderbury walkers on one of their 5 mile walks. (09:45am meet up for new walkers) They meet outside the village library which is located right by the church. Free on street parking is available but walkers are reminded to by mindful of villagers who are trying to access their own properties. The walk does cross fields and there are some stiles involved. There are x4 village pubs and a coffee shop for those who would like to stop for refreshments afterwards. Today's walk will be lead by Bal

Littlebury Hotel, Bicester

Start:

Bicester Saturday Walk (Coker Close)

This is a friendly accessible walk that starts from Bicester Health Centre entrance. (But park in the nearby Littlebury Hotel Carpark as there are parking restrictions outsde the Health Centre) There are many walk leaders and they adapt the circular/urban walk(s) with the needs of the walkers gathered. Mostly flat paths and accessible for strollers/wheelchairs in most places. The walk finishes at The Littlebury Hotel for refreshments.

Bure Park Bicester

Start:

Bure Park Wellbeing Walk

A friendly and accessible evening walk. Dog friendly and the group splits into a 30 min leisurely walk (buggy and wheelchair friendly) as well as a slighter longer 45 min walk. The groups then come together at the end and enjoy refreshments at the nearby Bure Park Farm Pub.
