This 12 mile walk starts in Dundridge and we cover an area to the east and north, via Droxford Down, Preshaw and returning via Dean. There are some great views on route, and we walk through downland, farms (possibly with livestock) and woodland, and pass the attractive Preshaw House estate. The tracks are mainly wide and easy walking (but there are places that are quite muddy due to recent wet weather). Poles would be helpful if you use them on some of the more slippery / sloping parts. There are several stiles and several inclines but only one that would be considered quite steep. A few short sections involve walking along quiet roads. This walk is not suitable for dogs.
If the weather is sunny (and you get over the shock!, please remember hats or suncream. There are no facilities on route, but plenty of trees! This is a picnic walk and please bring plenty to drink.
Car sharing would help if you are able, to ensure there is enough parking space. Please either arrange directly or let me know your location and I will try to connect people together.
Please advise the walk leader if you wish to join, as we may leave early if everyone is present.
If you wish to visit the Hampshire Bowman pub after the walk then you can park there – using the parking area away from the pub – but please go to the layby meeting point first to check in, which is about 350m away.
