Overview

Walk from Carfraemill via Oxton to join the old railway line and follow a pleasant rural route. Leave railway line to ascend gradually on a quiet road to highest point and extensive views at Blackchester Fort. (Very clear ramparts worth exploring). Descend gradually on a good path to rejoin the railway line through open countryside to Lauder. Mainly good paths with some stretches on quiet rural roads. Return by bus. REMEMBER BUS PASS. OS73. MEET NB 9.00, Hadd 9.15 for a 10.00 start. Park for start at car park opposite Carfraemill Hotel (NT507534). Contribution towards petrol �4.00. Please contact the leader to book your place.
