For today’s walk we venture out of our usual area to walk a stretch of the Coastal Path south of the Afon Dyfi. Unlike in our local area of Meirionnydd, the Coastal Path here hugs the coastline, following a roller-coaster route along the grassy cliff-tops. Borth itself is a modest seaside resort, its sandy beach stretching some for 3 miles to the north. Our route, though, heads south, soon climbing up on to the cliffs to enjoy wonderful, every-changing views of rocky crags, the coast and Cardigan Bay. Twice we drop back down to sea level, only to have to climb up again, at times reaching over 100 metres above the sea. We finish on Aberystwyth’s “Constitution Hill”, perhaps stopping for refreshments in the café at the top before making our final descent to the town.
