The circular morning walk of approx. 6.5 miles will start from the car park of The Holy Trinity Church on the Green at Hatfield Heath. On the walk, we're going to get a little taster of the beautiful village of Hatfield Broad Oak before heading back in a wide circle. There's only one stile on this walk and it is largely on firm ground (tarmac, grass), although some moderately muddy stretches should be expected at this time of year. There are lakes, woods, fields, streams, and a WWII PoW Camp on the way. No Easter eggs I'm afraid.
After lunch, there is the option of a loop of approx. 4.5 - 5 miles towards the east of Hatfield Heath. No stiles on this walk. Again, largely on firm ground yet depending on weather conditions some sections could be a little muddy. I reserve the right to cancel or shorten the afternoon loop depending on interest and weather.
The walk leader has booked tables for lunch at 1.30 p.m. at The White Horse near the church, which offers a wide selection of typical pub food as well as options for the smaller appetite at very reasonable prices. No pre-ordering is required. Other lunch options include a choice of two tea rooms and Dorrington's bakery, which offers hot and cold take-aways for a pic-nic on the green.
