A linear walk from the city centre crossing the M8 motorway by the new bridge that will take us across to Pinkston Basin. We will then continue on the canal footpath to Lock 27 at Anniesland. Along the way we will see a number of developments that have brought significant transformation to a number of areas along the Forth & Clyde canal. The first of these is the on-going regeneration of the Sighthill area. Then further along we will pass the entrance to the Claypits development at Hamiltonhill as well as the huge on-going development at Stockingfield junction where we will see the new bridge and various art installations including Bella the Beithir. Alongside all these new developments we will also see some of the incredible engineering that still remains from the time the canal was first built in the 18th century.
