If you are a Ramblers member, please bring your membership card. You MUST text or ring the leader to BOOK a place. You should not join the walk unless you have received a verbal CONFIRMATION or a TEXT.
This circular walk is a new walk and a different take on the walk from the Heavens Gate car park and the beautiful countryside to the South of Longleat Park. We take the Mid Wilts way to the top of Brimsdown Hill and immediately drop down to the pretty village of Kingston Deverill. We pass the gliding club again on part of the Mid Wilts way to Rodmead hill where we descend to Rodmead Farm. Sadly we now leave behind the stunning views across the Wessex Downs and procede to Maiden Bradley and Hornisham . The Heavens Gate viewing point over Longleat house is a must and we return through the arboretum to the cars. Please bring a packed lunch.
For those members who are happy to car share, we meet first at the Bath Road car park in Chippenham. (“Pay and Display”). Lifts are suggested at £4.80.
