After walking through an area of new housing, we soon hit the fields and head north along a number of footpaths and quiet lanes through the Warwickshire countryside. Our morning break will be at Millison’s Wood, a nature reserve which, at this time of the year, boasts a splendid carpet of bluebells. After a circuit around the wood we continue on field paths to Meriden Church where we will pause for an early picnic lunch. Our return journey takes us south through more farmland and quiet lanes until we reach Benton Green, where we head to the east on our final stretch back to Hockley.
This is a leisurely walk of about 6.5 miles with no hills and no stiles but there will be some soggy and muddy sections to negotiate.
