Overview

Get G21 service bus at 0909 from Penmaenpool to Arthog. Ascend up the reasonably steep path through the woodland alongside the Afon Arthog with several waterfalls to view. Exit the woodland over a large stone slab bridge for a well earned coffee break.  Then through fields on a more gentle ascent to Cregennen lakes with magnificent views including Cadair idris.   (toilets are available here).

Free parking at the RSPB car park in Penmaenpool with toilets. If using public transport the T2 service bus from Aberystwyth at 0735 connects with the G21 service leaving Dolgellau at 0903 via Penmaenpool to Arthog.
