Overview

Meet at the Maiwand Lion in Forbury gardens, nearest Post Code RG1 3BB for a short circular 2.8 mile walk through the Reading Abbey ruins & past the old Goal. No stiles. Along the Kennet we pass Blakes Lock & look for signs of Reading’s industrial past, along the river to the junction with the River Thames, across the Horseshoe Bridge & back along the Thames Path, past the Lido. Possible walk across the weir to see the new Hydro on View Island, on to Reading Bridge & return to the start. NOTE START TIME OF 10:45
