Meet at
10.30am at Holborn station (Central Line) for a short walk along to the London Silver Vaults. The Vaults were originally opened in 1876 as a safe deposit for the wealthy and were used as a secure storage place for London’s silver dealers during WW2. Today it is the home of silver shopping, and we shall spend an hour walking through the vast vaults admiring some of the world’s finest silver. (This is not a guided walk). After a break for refreshments and toilets, we make our way to Farringdon via Hatton Garden, the centre of London’s historic diamond district and discover the history of Farringdon. Finishing at Farringdon Station (Elizabeth Line, Hammersmith and City and Circle lines).
