An entertaining walk around the watershed above the Skyreburn valley. It can be very wet and a bit heathery and tussocky in places but the views down the valley to the sea to the south and the views of the Cairnsmore massif to the north make it worthwhile (if you can see them).
The first two thirds of the walk is on rough moorland with an interesting descent to the old military road. The last mile and a half follows the old military road, mostly up hill, to the cars.
Meet at the top of the Corse of Slakes road below the television masts on Cambret Hill behind Creetown.
Parking is limited so please car share as much as possible.
Good waterproof boots and gaiters are recommended.
