The countryside between the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds is undulating and surprisingly varied. There are some delightful ancient hollow way tracks through mainly arable farmland revealing occasionally distant views across the Vale of York. We will go through four charming villages, mainly on well made tracks and quiet roads. There is one particularly muddy but thankfully short patch, a ploughed field and two well ordered stiles to cross
