Walking in Dorset

Our group is aimed at young walkers within their 20's to 40's; although any age is very welcome to join us. We are a friendly group, who usually walk at a relaxed pace that suits everyone's ability. Normally leaders organise walks between 3 miles up to 12 miles.

Our walks and events are usually around the Purbecks, Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole or Bournemouth, with some occasionally being further out such as The New Forest or Lyme Regis.

Since most of our walks are below 10 miles, they tend not to take a whole day and so can easily fit into a busy weekend. Walks that involve a tea room stop or pub at the end are particularly enjoyable to get to know other members.

Our walks aren’t published on a schedule, instead we rely on members to volunteer to lead walks. We have a busy schedule so at times our events calendar can either seem empty or very full, but don’t worry, we have plenty of opportunities to get out into the countryside.

Joining our walking community

Joining our group is a chance to meet like-minded people, catch up with other friends and visit those places in our beautiful Dorset coast and countryside that you might not ordinarily get to.

Christmas parties are also a highlight of our group and can involve pub lunches and even the chance to swap your walking boots for your dancing shoes for a disco!
