Leave a gift in your will

Protect the joy of walking for everyone.

Leave a lasting footprint with a gift in your will

Gifts in wills, whatever the size, are crucial to help us ensure everyone everywhere can continue to enjoy nature on foot.

From removing barriers so everyone can enjoy walking in green spaces to improving Britain’s most popular and least-known walking places, legacy gifts are such a powerful way to support our work and the next generation of walkers.

A legacy of campaigning wins for walkers

Since 1935, we’ve been doing everything we can to make sure everyone everywhere can enjoy nature on foot. We successfully campaigned for the Countryside and Rights Of Way Act in 2000 we fought for the opening of the England Coast Path.  But without the help of generous legacies over the years, we wouldn’t have been able to secure any of our walking victories.

Play your part

By remembering the Ramblers in your will, you’ll leave a lasting gift that will:

  • Protect, enhance, and open paths, tracks, and trails across Britain for everyone to enjoy

  • Boost Britain’s wellbeing by removing barriers to walking

  • Protect and expand everyone’s right to explore and walk freely in our countryside and green spaces

Remember the Ramblers

If or when the time is right for you to include a gift in your will, please remember the Ramblers. Every gift makes a difference. Just 1% of your estate will go a long way to helping us protect the places we love to wander, for generations of walkers to come.

Write your will for free

Free Wills Month

Every March and October, solicitors take part in Free Wills Month for the benefit of charities like the Ramblers.  A solicitor will write or update your will free of charge if you are aged 55 or over.

Online wills

The Ramblers are partnering with Farewill to offer free wills which can be made entirely online. Email legacy@ramblers.org.uk to find out more.

Free wills via local solicitors

You can visit the National Free Wills Network to find a local solicitor who will write your will for free.

If you choose to write your will through Free Wills Month or one of the other services, we hope you'll consider leaving a gift in your will to the Ramblers, although there is no obligation to do so.
