Overview

Starting from The Combs Reservoir Car Park, we follow the reservoirs edge to its end. Take the road for a short distance passing through Combs village after which we start a gentle ascent across fields until we meet the moors at Broadlee Farm and the ascent steepens as we head up to Combs Moss, with views of Castle Naze and Combs Edge Rock formations to our Left. We now follow the edge of the plateau around the moss, passing Cuckoo Tors, Black Edge, Hob Tor and Short Edge whilst taking in views of the Goyt Valley, Burbage, Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith. Once at the Fort by Castle Naze we make our descent back to the reservoir and car park. There are two Ethels to be bagged on this walk, Combs Head & Black Edge (Combs Moss).

Distance: 9.5 miles / 15km

Difficulty: Moderate

Ascent: 455.3m / 1484ft

Parking is at Combs Reservoir Water Authority Car Park, its free but only holds 15 cars so cars sharing is advisable. Unfortunately there are no toilets.
