Aberaeron on day 1 of the Merthyr Valley Ramblers weekend away. The 9+ mile walk starts in Aberaeron and we walk up the river to the old railway station at Llanerchaeron and then take our tea break at the Edwardian stately home tea rooms. We then drop down on the other side of the river to upper bridge where we turn East towards Aberarth and have lunch on the hill above. We then drop down into the village and walk along the coast back to the start.
New Quay Day 2 of the Merthyr Valley Ramblers May weekend. We start our 8+ mile walk with a steep climb from the car-park along the top of the cliff to a bay by Castell Bach where we will have our tea break on the beach. We go inland where we pass a garlic festooned waterfall - we then hit the roads to Cwmtydu where we will have lunch. It is then more coast work where we will turn inland to cross our path and on to Byrlip where we travel Northeast and back to the start.
We start off from our hotel at Penrhos golf club at Llanrhystud, before starting our 7 miler. We walk along the Wales coast path to the parish church at Llansantffraed where we will have our cuppa then turn inland. Lunch will be taken above the Afon Peris. Just past Coed Allt-goth, we head North through woodland to pick up the road back to the hotel.
