Hesket Newmarket is a small village situated just inside the northern edge of the Lake District National Park, nestling in the Caldbeck fells. It is great walking country: just ask Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins who passed through in 1857 on a walking holiday. An added appeal is that there is a very fine micro brewery that supplies the very best fresh beers to The Old Crown pub right next door.
