Come and join us for a lovely day walking from Abingdon to Sandford and then returning on the boat. We will follow the Thames out of Abingdon and then head away from it on the Oxford Greenbelt Way to Nuneham Park, Nuneham Courtney and on towards the Baldons. We'll then make our way to Sandford where there will be time for a drink at the pub before picking up the boat for a leisurely trip back to Abingdon. Please note that the boat is due to arrive back in Abingdon at 4.30pm but it is sometimes late so you should allow until at least 5pm. The cost of the boat is £11.80 so please have this amount in cash with you on the day. If you don't want to take the boat there are buses back to Abingdon from Kennington which is a short walk from Sandford.

The car park is near the junction of Hensington Road and Union Street behind the fire station and is free and long-stay. Getting there by public transport: Stagecoach S3 bus from Oxford (use the Woodstock Marlborough Arms stop) takes approx. 30 mins. Please check times on Stagecoach website.From Woodstock we head towards Wootton crossing the confluence of the rivers Dorn and Glyme. After following the Akeman Street Roman road we visit the village of Combe for the lunch stop. The route then passes through Blenheim Park and back to Woodstock. Please bring packed lunch. Pub stop at end.

Following brunch (at approx 12:30) there will be a further walk of about 7 miles for those that wish to continue, or join just for the afternoon, Alternatively people may wish to visit the village fete.
