Sunday, 15 September 2019 (Group: Stag Walkers)
Meeting time 10:30,
Start time 11:00
7 miles / 11.3 km
(Estimated finish time: 16:00)
Starting at a lovely pub in the small village of Burnham Green the walk will be a pleasant mixture of open countryside and woodland walks.
The route will take us above the East Coast Rail Line, at which point you may hear the sudden rush of wind from the air shafts as a high speed train passes through the tunnels far below.
After stopping for lunch by the cricket green in Datchworth (remember to, bring food with you), we will pass through several wooded areas and the affluent village of Tewin Wood before arriving back into Burnham Green.
Once back, for those who want to, there will be the opportunity to grab a drink in the village pub. The Old White Horse has a modern interior but maintains its country feel. It serves a great selection of food and ales, has an open fire for when it is cold, and a large pub garden for when it is warm... perfect for the end of a relaxing Sunday walk.
Bring a packed lunch or snacks and drinks.
Dogs Welcome but need to be on a Lead at times.
Please car-share if possible. To offer a lift or ask for one from a fellow walker, please use the Stag Walkers Facebook page to arrange this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/stagwalkers
