This walk explores the countryside to the west of Stevenage, passing through Norton Green and Langley along footpaths, bridleways and a short section of minor road before heading down an impressive avenue towards St Paul’s Walden Bury. We can then stop for hot drinks and a bite to eat at Emily’s Tea Room in Whitwell (there will also be a snack break or two along the route). The return route follows part of the Hertfordshire Way and passes the ruins of Minsden Chapel. At the end of the walk there is the option of a short detour to finish with drinks at one of the pubs in Stevenage Old Town.Walk leader: Al

A walk of 6 miles through undulating countryside, with some beautiful views of unspoilt valleys and several attractive woods. A Bedfordshire walk that passes through the Georgian market town of Ampthill, and calls in at atmospheric remains of Houghton House. Bring food and drink. A walk of 10miles from Pitstone Hill up to Ivinghoe beacon, then through the Ashridge Estate finally following the Ridgeway Path back to the car park. Stops are Ivinghoe Beacon, Bridgewater monument and Pub stop in Aldbury at the Valiant Trooper. Please bring a lunch however a cafe and the pub both serve food.
