From Ash bypass, follow signs to Ware and Westmarsh until you reach crossroads (just after Hawthorn Farm) with farm entrance marked by brick wall and sign for Ware Farms/Downfield Farm. Follow track past house on left and through farm gate, parking in farm yard. Walk goes through farmland and orchards and alongside a river and also takes in Richborough Castle. As it is harvest and crop planting time, some fields may be uneven and footpaths unmarked; also river bank may be overgrown - be prepared! Toilet block in farm at start, no refreshments enroute or at end so please bring drinks and snacks.

Meet in (pay and display) car park where corner of Princes Parade meets Twiss Road, (Hythe), by Hythe Imperial Hotel. If the car park isn't free on a Sunday, free parking should be available in Twiss Road (and its side streets) / Princes Parade.\nWe will walk along the seafront from Hythe, through Sandgate, Folkestone’s redeveloped Harbour Arm, the East Cliff and Warren, returning with some overlap of the initial path taken, but on a more inland route along the Leas and through the Royal Military Canal Pathway (different to previously done). Pretty much flat for most, with some inclines around the Warren area. Various lunch options on return to Hythe Town Centre (fish & chips / pubs etc), but nothing formally booked (although I’m happy to sort if a strong wish from a few).
