Sunday, 19 July 2020 (Group: Oxon Weekend Walkers)
Start time 10:30
10.5 miles / 16.9 km
(Estimated finish time: 16:00)
This is a walk from Elaine Steane’s ‘Milestones to Millstones’ book starting in Great Haseley. We begin by walking across the low-lying flood plain of the River Thame, then visiting the remains of the noble parkland in Ascott Park. The route goes through the picturesque villages of Great Haseley, Little Milton, Stadhampton (with its watermill) and Great Milton. We will cross the land of Wells Farm, with its rich biodiversity created by traditional management. The walk concludes by passing the recently restored windmill above Great Haseley.
