An inland waterways walk, following various blue lines on the map towards E. London, and Stratford, trail's end. Drop out at 6m: Pudding Lane. Café/picnic.
We were going to have lunch at the Viewtube café overlooking the Olympic Park, but on a recent recce I found that it was CLOSED, awaiting new managers to take over. Hence we are now lunching at a licenced café earlier in the walk. It offers a light lunch, mostly bagels. In order to get there during the lunch hour we have to start LATER. If travelling from Sutton, we catch the 10.02 to Victoria, thence by tube to Bethnal Green arriving just after 11am. There is a coffee/comfort stop after about 20 mins

The first walk in a trail that will take us through Hertfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire. This walk is via Clay Hill, Whitewebbs Wood, the historic Theobalds Park and the Lee valley. Short Visit to Bexhill’s famous De La Warr Pavilion followed by a flat brisk walk to Norman’s Bay (pub/picnic). Possible dropoff at Cooden Beach (brasserie/picnic). Travel using Southern’s DaySave which is £40 for a group of 4, leaving East Croydon at 1003. Book with me in advance by March 1st with a cheque or cash for £10. A return on the day will cost £20+ even with a railcard. NB walk will be curtailed but not cancelled if very bad weather.

420 bus from Sutton Station at 10.44 to Reigate Hill. Walk through Gatton Park then lunch at The Yew Tree on Reigate Hill. Drop off by bus back to Sutton or walk onto Reigate. Car drivers can park at Reigate Hill, walk starts from there at 11.30 and then return by bus to Reigate Hill.
