This circular walk starts at Moreton-in-Marsh, a pretty market town. The first section to Blockley is via the Monarch's Way, with fine views of the surrounding countryside; the return is on minor roads and lonely footpaths through unspoilt scenery.

A large proportion of this walk is through extensive woodlands, mainly of beech and oak. Our start point will be in the middle of these woods at Chedworth Roman Villa, one of the most complete Roman Villas in England (National Trust, definitely worth visiting at the end of the walk). We'll pass through the attractive villages of Chedworth and Withington and the final part of our walk will take us through the Chedworth Nature Reserve, a section of the disused Cheltenham to Cirencester railway line. The nature reserve is a great site for geologists and nature lovers.
