Potentially an interesting historical walk but spoiled by the section alongside the Rochdale Canal - huge quantities of litter on the towpath and in the water, discarded condoms and unbelievable quantities of human excrement on the towpath and under bridges, really had to pick our way through it in some places. Made what should be a nice walk unpleasant. So different to the Birmingham canals - shame on you Manchester for not looking after your heritage.
