COVID-19 pandemic: UPDATE no. 2 26th NOVEMBER.     We are restarting our walks from 3rd December.

Our group has set a maximum number on walks of 12 but some leaders will decide to opt for a lower number based on their assessment of risk for that walk.

How to join a walk:  you must book in advance - details of how to book is given for each walk.  Please follow this advice.
Thanks to all of the leaders who continue to offer walks.

We held our AGM on 23rd November with 41 members attending the on-line meeting remotely; your committee were re-elected.

Meon Ramblers look foward to welcoming you on one of our walks.

Getting out and having a walk is good for our health and well being; you are welcome to go out walking on your own or with a friend, following Government guidelines.  However remember social distancing on walks:  please respect the need to keep space (ideally 2 m) between individuals.  Avoid hand contact and use sanitising wipes or gel if possible.  Please bring your own refreshments and carry your contact details, just in case of a problem.

Please note:  due to the limited number permitted on our group walks you must book in advance - details by each walk

We organise regular walks led by local expert leaders – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.

The Meon Group offers 3 walks of varying lengths almost every Sunday throughout the year with some mid-week walks. Our walks are mainly in Hampshire and West Sussex with occasional trips across to the Isle of Wight and into Dorset.  Extras include coach based walks and some social events (cream tea walks, BBQ, quiz and skittles evenings).     Our walk along The Thames Path continued in 2019 reaching Hammersmith in October.  These coach walks are very popular so advance booking for coach seats essential. See Thames Path page or our walks programme for dates. All our coach walks scheduled in 2020 are cancelled

We publish all our walks here on the Ramblers Find a walk site - the details of all our walks are shown in the adjacent column.  Click on a walk to find out more.   If you have any queries about a particular walk please contact the named leader; they will be able to assist you  in locating the start point.

Weather conditions:  very occasionally we have to make changes to our walks due to the weather and difficult ground conditions or if a leader is unwell.  We post these changes against each walk - including if we have to cancel the walk (weather such as excessively hot conditons, flooding or snow and ice or if a leader is ill).   If you are uncertain if a walk will be taking place  - please contact the leader to check.  The leader contact details are posted with each walk.
