Group name: Southport
This group is a part of Merseyside and West Cheshire Area.
Our activities include:
Southport Ramblers' welcome all age groups from 8 to 80+. Our walks are usually on Sundays and we travel by coach that collects from various pick up points across Southport (from Thornton to Tarleton). There are 3 walks you can choose from (A is strenuous, B moderate and C easy.) These are led by experienced leaders. The details of each walk is circulated on the coach, giving an explanation of the terrain, length of walk and showing the route on a map.
In addition to our walk programme, we actively monitor the state of our local footpaths and provide input to the local council to help maintain the viability of the paths.
For All Walks
Walking/hiking boots must be worn. You need to bring food, drink and wet weather clothing. It is advisable to carry a suitable first aid kit and some money for refreshments. Walkers should always bring a change of shoes and a bag to put your dirty boots in! All our walks are free of charge but there is a fee for the coach.
Along with our walks,we offer social events. These include group holidays, meals out, extra walks, trips out and exploring local history.
How do I Join?
