Group name: Sheringham & District
This group is a part of Norfolk Area.
Sheringham and District Ramblers is a friendly group of walkers celebrating our 40th year of rambling and we currently have over 150 members, although many do not walk. Due to Covid 19 there is currently a restriction on the numbers on our walks and pre-registration with the leader is essential. Our Wednesday walks are around 4 to 6 miles with a short stop and our Sunday walks are normally 6 to 10 miles again with a refreshment stop.
We welcome new members to our Group who can walk with us on three occasions before joining the Ramblers, and also ramblers from other Groups. Our walks are led by experienced members but we encourage new members to 'have a go' at leading as it shares the load and brings in new ideas. We normally have a couple of social events a year. This year we have a picnic walk, a 40th birthday dinner and most probably a year end dinner.
We recently had a memorial walk for Norman Dovey our previuos chairman along part of the Norfolk Coast near Weybourne. As you will see like any good walk we encountered an extremely large flood on the footpath that wasn't there when we did the reccie!
