Our activities include:
Short and easy walks
Daventry Ramblers are a group of likeminded friends who enjoy a stroll in our beautiful local countryside and a pub for lunch at the end of the walk. We meet every other Thursday and every other Saturday or Sunday for walks of between 4 and 6 miles normally starting at 09.30 from the pub car park where we return for a well earned lunch. We also have the occasional shorter walk on Tuesdays. The full programme together with updates and a short write up of each walk with some photos can be found on our Facebook page. If you are not on Facebook but would like walk details we would need your email address. Come and join us. We also have the occasional Walking Weekend Away for example in September we will be in the Lake District staying in Keswick and in April 2019 we will be in New Alresford in the South Downs.

The Daventry Group is part of the Northamptonshire Area of the Ramblers Association. The Association is registered as the ‘data controller’, number Z7904496, with the Information Commissioner for the United Kingdom.
When we say ‘we’ or ‘us’ in this Privacy Notice, we mean the committee of Daventry Ramblers in conjunction with the Ramblers Association.
3. Your privacy rights
3.1 You have the right to object to how we use your personal information. You also have the right to see what personal information we, and the Ramblers Association, hold about you. In addition, you can ask us to correct inaccuracies, delete or restrict personal information or ask for some of your personal information to be provided to someone else. You can make a complaint to us via the Membersip Secretary, and the Ramblers Association.
You can also make a complaint to the data protection supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office, at bhttps://ico.org.uk.
4. What kind of personal information we use
4.1 We use your name, address, email address, telephone number(s) and social media contacts where available.
4.2 The Ramblers Association may hold additional personal information which you gave when you joined as a member or have given when you made a donation or appeal. Please contact them via email at ‘email@example.com’ to obtain a full list.
5 How we gather your personal information
5.1 We obtain personal information directly from the Ramblers Association Membership Services Team, email ‘firstname.lastname@example.org ’. It is necessary therefore that you contact the Membership team directly with any correction or updates to your information as we do not have the authority to do that on your behalf.
6 How we use your personal information
6.1 We will use your personal information for administration purposes, for operating and publicising walks, socials and other events and for communicating with you about your membership. Only the committee, primarily the Membership Secretary and Programme Secretary, will be able to access your details.
6.2 As a designate group of the Ramblers Association you may be asked directly for further personal information to ensure that you are covered by Ramblers insurance etc. to which you should reply directly. Should you have any queries regarding these requests please contact the appropriate department at the Ramblers Association as shown in paragraphs 4.2 and 5.1.
6.3 We will never share or sell your data without your prior permission.
7 Our legal basis for using your personal data
7.1 We only use your personal information where that is permitted by the laws that protect privacy rights. We only use your personal information where:
We have your consent;
We need to use the information to administer your membership;
We need to use the information to comply with our legal obligations;
Where we have your consent, you have the right to withdraw it by contacting the Membership
Secretary and the Ramblers Association.
8 Children’s Data
GDPR has very strict rules around how children’s data must be managed. It is therefore Ramblers policy not to collect or process any data from under18s. Ramblers safeguarding policy states that under 18s may only participate in Ramblers activities if accompanied by a responsible adult. Only the personal data of the adult should be collected not the child’s.
Photographs of people are a type of personal data and in some cases you may need to collect consent from the people you are photographing. Guidelines differ depending on the purpose of the photogragh, how many people are in it and if individuals are identified. Particular care needs to be taken if children are present and may not be taken without explicit consent of their parent/guardian.
10 How long we keep your personal information for
As soon as we receive confirmation that you have ceased to be a member of the Ramblers we will delete all your personal information from our systems. We will never retain details for any longer than is necessary.
11 Keeping you up to date
We will communicate with you about Group activities and membership by using any contact details you have given us- for example by post, email, text, social media and notifications on our website.
