Walking in Northumbria

Our group was originally founded to encourage younger walkers into the Ramblers community but we have no age limits. This just means most of our walks and events are focused around the weekends and evenings.

Our members are based in Newcastle and the surrounding areas. Most years we get out to Hadrian’s Wall, the Cheviots, the Northumberland coast, North Yorkshire and the Tyne valley. Walks range from 5 mile easy rambles to 16 mile full day hill walks.

A summary calendar of our events is available on our public Facebook page and group web site

Join our walking community

Why not join us for one or two trial walks prior to deciding whether or not to become a member. If you would like further details of a trial walk, please message us via our public Facebook page with the walk you’ve chosen, and we’ll send you information about joining the walk.

We love taking people to explore interesting new places in the areas we live but we also venture further afield for weekends away. We often head across to the Lake District and travel to places such as Loch Lomond, the Yorkshire Dales and Snowdonia.

As well as all the healthy walking activities we also get together for social events. This includes regular trips to the pub, cinema, theatre and meals out.
