We are the Gloucestershire Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Event Description:
Get into the festive spirit with our Christmas walk on Cleeve Hill! Dust off your Christmas jumpers (optional, but encouraged) and join us for a scenic 6.5-mile adventure to kick off the christmas season.
We'll gather at The Rising Sun pub, located halfway up the picturesque Cleeve Hill. From there, we'll embark on a journey that promises breathtaking views of Cheltenham from the hilltop, followed by a descent through woodlands, fields, old quarries, and charming farms. On our way back, we'll reach a stunning viewpoint where you can gaze across to Bishops Cleeve, Winchcombe, and even further to the Malverns and Tewkesbury.
Whether you're up for the whole experience, including lunch, or just the walk itself, everyone is welcome! The pub is reserved for us at 1 PM, so please make sure to confirm your attendance and food preferences a week in advance. When you RSVP, you'll have the option to join us for lunch, and if you do, we'll send you a direct message for your food choices.
Food Options:
These walks are tailored for people in their 20s and 30s. The event is organized by ramblers and is free to join. After participating in 2 or 3 walks, we kindly request that you become a member of the ramblers.
Please ensure you dress appropriately for the weather and consider wearing walking boots for a comfortable experience. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate dogs on this walk, except for registered assistance dogs. It's a good idea to check with the walk leader to confirm if the route is suitable for your needs.
Remember to RSVP on Meetup and keep your RSVPs up to date. If you find that you can no longer make it, please update your status so that we can plan accordingly. Carpooling is encouraged to make the most of available parking at the pub.
