A very flat route from the village of Abbeytown towards to Skinburness before finishing in Silloth.
We will visit St Mary's Church / Holmcultram Abbey (founded 1150) at the start of the walk. We then head under (or around if it is still flooded!) a dismantled railway line bridge and through fields and alongside the River Waver. Much of the grass alongside the river has grown quite tall in places. We follow the King Charles III English Coast Path passing through Calvo Marsh and Skinburness Marsh, along the route of the sea dyke and on, almost reaching Grune Point before turning westwards towards our parked cars in Silloth. High tide (8.4metres) is at 13.54.
There is expected to be cattle in some fields along the way.
